Overview of ReActiv8

ReActiv8, developed by Mainstay Medical, is an innovative implantable neurostimulation system designed to treat chronic low back pain by targeting the multifidus muscle, a key stabilizer of the spine. The treatment utilizes a small implanted pulse generator (similar to a pacemaker) connected to electrodes placed near the nerves controlling the multifidus muscles. Through controlled electrical stimulation delivered for approximately 30 minutes twice daily via a wireless remote control, the system aims to restore proper muscle function and spine stability. This therapy is particularly suitable for patients suffering from chronic mechanical low back pain who haven't found adequate relief through physical therapy and conservative treatments, and for whom surgical intervention may not be appropriate.
